The scheme is designed to provide comprehensive support to farmers, including small and marginal farmers, landless agricultural laborers, and vulnerable cultivators.

The primary aim of the CM Kisan Yojana is to ensure that the benefits of government assistance reach every farmer in the state, thereby promoting agricultural growth, enhancing income security, and reducing poverty.

Objectives of the CM Kisan Yojana Odisha

  1. Financial Assistance: One of the main objectives of the CM Kisan Yojana is to provide direct financial assistance to farmers. This helps them invest in inputs like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor for their agricultural activities.
  2. Support for Landless Farmers: The scheme also focuses on providing livelihood support to landless agricultural laborers who do not own any agricultural land but are engaged in farming activities.
  3. Vulnerability Reduction: The program aims to safeguard vulnerable cultivators, such as elderly farmers and women, by providing them with direct financial assistance.
  4. Loan Waiver and Insurance: Another key objective is to alleviate the debt burden on farmers through loan waivers and crop insurance coverage, ensuring they do not fall into a debt trap during times of crop failure or natural disasters.
  5. Sustainable Agriculture: The CM Kisan Yojana also encourages sustainable farming practices by providing incentives for organic farming and other eco-friendly agricultural methods.
